History of Benton
County, Arkansas, Curtis Pub., 1991, p 762
... Williamson Seamster's son Martin Luther (1844-1936) married Nancy
Jane Cole (1853-1927) on March 2, 1871. They moved to the Beaty
community in northwest Benton county shortly afterwards and set up
housekeeping. Nancy's family had moved, with 12 other families,
to six miles north of Elkhorn Tavern, in 1832. All the families
but 5 settled in Barry county, Missouri so they could be in a state.
...
Martin and Nancy Seamster lived in Beaty until 1903,
and then moved a few miles south of Hiwasse where they spent their
remaining days together. Martin was a farmer and Justice of the
Peace and Nancy a Christian farm wife and mother who was beloved by the
community. Martin would often recount the story of his
grandfather, John Seamster, Jr., visiting his father's family on
horseback from Schuyler County Mo. in a solitary ride that would take
six weeks to complete. He was 96 years old at the time, and rode
high in the saddle. Nancy would tell of hearing the canons roar 5
miles away during the Battle of Pea Ridge and how wounded soldiers were
brought to her family for assistance. She rarely spoke of the
times her cousins, Jesse and Frank James, stopped by the home to rest
their horses and enjoy a good meal. This was always a source of
embarrassment to her.

... M.L. and Nancy Jane (Cole) Seamster, both of whom are natives of
Missouri, the former being born in Schuyler county and the latter in
Barry county. ... To their union nine children were born, namely: John
W., who is conducting a bakery at Fayetteville, Arkansas; Marion N., a
well known farmer residing at Miami, OK; Etta who married A.M. Crouse,
a successful agriculturist of Benton County; R A., who is the
proprietor of a leading cafe of Breckenridge, Texas; J.R., a prominent
restaurateur of Bentonville; A.S., who is successfully operating a farm
at Wareagle, Arkansas; Lee, of this review; Alvin who acts as a rural
mail carrier, making his home on a farm; and Jesse, who is connected
with the Ferguson Lumber Company of Bentonville. The paternal
grandfather, the Rev. Williamson Seamster, was a well known minister of
the Baptist church, devoting his life to missionary work. The maternal
grandfather, Isaac Newton Cole, at one time resided in North Carolina,
going from that state to Missouri with the Cherokee Indians, and there
he continued to make his home during the remainder of his life.
