NICKERSON CEMETERY, Kimberling City MO

History of Nickerson Cemetery by Richard White as told to Cindy in 2006. "The family story that was told to me goes something like this:
In 1902, Joshua Nickerson and his son in law John L. White, went to the land bureau office in Springfield and each signed up for tracks of land in Stone county. Joshua homesteaded 160 acres around what is now the intersection of hwy 13 and OO. Some years later the Shepherds lost a baby and wanted to bury it on part of Joshua's land. He let them bury the baby on what is today the north east corner of the cemetery. After that, as locals died they were buried in the cemetery. When Joshua died, his daughter and son in law deeded the cemetery to Stone County."

Please NOTE just because photos may be grouped by surnames does NOT necessarily indicate a relationship nor are they necessarily buried beside each other.  This cemetery is fully transcribed. Currently there are over 176 names transcribed & headstone photographs linked. All names below have photos courtesy of Cindy Marcell. Every effort has been made to ensure accurate transcriptions have been provided however errors are possible so please notify Cindy Marcell should you be able to make corrections. If you would like to add a family member that is known to be in this cemetery or your contact info please contact Cindy.
