  Pernella Swanson, emigrated from Sweden to America as a 16 year old in 1879. She joined my grandfather (who had arrived 3 years earlier) on the John Bengston farm near Robinson, KS. She worked for a time as a chambermaid at a new hotel in Junction City and then married a painter, Olof Swanson (buried in same plot) in 1884 and they raised 7 children in various locations but mostly in and around mostly in & around Severence KS .
