I went to the LDS to search their IGI files. First I looked into the files for the Waring family of Shropshire. Not much there, already had what I think I could gleam out of that. Then I looked into the name of Slade in the Shropshire IGI. The IGI files show a John Slade married to a Mary Bayton on 9 Feb. 1645 in Ludlow, Shropshire. Possible parents were Thomas Slade and Maud. His christening date would then be 26 Mar 1625 in Stanton Lacy. The other possibility would be William Slade. The christening date would then be 10 Oct. 1615 in Stanton Lacy. I lean more towards Thomas and Maud. There are no other possibilities in the IGI unless they are going by his middle name. Now, if you look at the Will it has listed a brother in law named Roger Bayton. This tends to back up the name of Mary Bayton (there are other spellings of course). Then you look at the Sarah Ciddson his sister. Well, the IGI file for Shropshire shows a Sarah Slade christened 13 Aug. 1603 in Stanton Lacy to Thomas Slade. The next bit shows sister in law Joan Slade. Well, it does not show a marriage between Joan and Edward Slade but it does show a John Slade christened 9 July 1671 in Ludlow to an Edward Slade and Joan. There is also a christening date of 10 Nov. 1667 for Alice (Alys) Slade to Edward and Joan Slade in Ludlow. It also shows a christening of Edward Slade, son of Thomas on 30 June 1616 in Stanton Lacy. The Will mentions that in 1681 that the children had not yet reached 21 years of age so that matches up. Now, Anne Slade. I show a marriage of Anne to Peter Cole on 15 April 1632 in Ludlow. Another note, Maude Slade (widow of Thomas Slade) married William Griffiths on 5 Feb. 1626 in Stanton Lacy. Her 2nd marriage possibly? So Thomas Slade was probably dead before 1626. John Cole was probably the son of Anne and Peter Cole. Nothing on Anne Browne yet, nor on the Evans name. Andrew Ciddson was probably Sarah's son. Nothing on the Knight. My guess is that Martha Griffiths, Anne, and Margaret Griffiths were children or grandchildren of John's Mother Maud Slade Griffiths. Richard Cole was probably the son of Sarah and Peter Cole. I am guessing but I'll bet that Peter was dead, that is why he is not mentioned in the Will. Ok, take a breath now. The name Printer. Total Loss. There is no William Printer listed in Shropshire (not that that always matters). There is only 1 Printer in Shropshire and its not him. I checked the county Worcester and there is a William, but in the 19th century. So, its not him. Nothing to this point shows a connection to William Waring.

So I went to Bayton, also spelled Beaton, Betton, Baiton, Beton, etc. Now, a little background music please. When I first started looking into the IGI files in England I was really fit to be tied because ever time it looked like I was getting somewhere with my line I would run into "relative: George Wareing." That was upsetting, but today it became a clue but also a "why didn't he publish this" attitude. Though I have to admit, I love this chase, it really wasn't necessary. At the very top of the Bayton page sits little Agnes Betton born 1402 of Onslow and there, where in the past discussed me so was "relative of George Wareing." Wow! Its like I am tracing someone else's tracks. Unfortunately George Wareing has been dead about 70 years so I can't ask him and I don’t have his notes.
