Isaac Manis Isaac Manis was born March 26, A.D. 1827, married Leannah Webb, March 6, A.D. 1846 and to Mrs. Harriet Britton, January 9, 1870 and to Mrs. Sarah A Dillon, December 9, 1900. He died April 20, 1907, his age being 80 years, 25 days. He joined the Regular Baptist church, called Middle Fork, located in Webb's Prairie, some fifty years ago, and served as church clerk forty-one years. He also held the office of clerk and recorder of Bethal Association of Regular Baptists for many years, and was only relieved from these offices on account of bad health and extreme age. There was never a charge brought against Brother Manis by the church during this long half century. He was always found filling his seat at his church when he was able, never allowing frivolous excuses to hinder him. He loved his church and stood by his convictions through all the trials and tribulations of life. He held the office of Magistrate for a number of years. He was a good husband, father and neighbor. To know him was to love him. A good man has gone from among us; only for a little while. He sleeps while his soul rests in the Paradise of God, only to await the resurrection, to-wit, the redemption of our bodies.
