LVS HTML II Assignment Week One

HTML II WEEK ONE ASSIGNMENT

This week we learned about validating our pages. Also the basic tags used in html.

This is the first of six weeks, below are links to weeks two through six. Of course, they are blank pages right now, but hopefully, they won't be for long.

I have been using Dreamweaver MX, and it is surprising how much I depend on it for the html, it seems that I have forgotten quite a few of the basic html code. So this class is going to be great for a refresher.

I am just trying to use some of the basic tags. Below is an example of preformatted text, a paragraph out of a 1879 Jefferson County, Iowa history book.

  In June of that year, a quarter section of land was donated for the College
by John W. O. Webb and others, and the Trustees adopted a plan for the 
erection of a suitable building. In 1860, the plan was modified, and the 
contract for enclosing let to Messrs. Finkbine & Lovelace, for $10,420.

I ran this through Homesite+'s validator and it showed no errors. On the older pages that I checked I received a lot of "font" tag is deprecated, and "center" tag is deprecated. It told me to consider using style sheets, which I plan to do after I learn more about them. :))

Also, a few errors that I didn't understand what it was talking about. These were pages that I did using Dreamweaver.
