Mrs. Collier's Class
- Many students are now on chapter books! The following website has a good list of 1st and 2nd grade chapter books http://www.dkpl.org/youth_bibs_pdfs/first_and_second_grade_chapter_books.pdf
- We are working very hard to skip count. The students have been tested on counting by 2's, 3's, 5's and 10's.
- The shapes we are learning include star, heart, square, triangle, rhombus, trapezoid, hexagon, and rectangle.
- Help your child count money. We have already covered pennies and nickels and will soon be introducing dimes and quarters. They will need to draw the money when given an amount and count the money when coins are shown.
WRITING
- We use the denelian handwriting. You can make worksheets at http://www.handwritingworksheets.com/denelian-1/make-d.htm
