Introduction
Otto Andersson was born on 5 May 1858 at Högsäter Parish, Alvsborgland, Sweden. He emigrated to the United States and on 3 September 1881 he married Stina Maja Andersdotter at DuBois, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. "Marie” Andersdotter was born on 8 August 1858 at Or Parish, Dalsland, Sweden. She emigrated to the United States on 27 June 1881. In the time between 1850-1900 the counties of south western Sweden experienced a wave of emigration, mainly small scale farmers trying to flee poverty and famine. The number of people leaving Dalsland for Norway or America was estimated at 64,000. Otto and Marie settled in Ashland, Wisconsin in 1887.
