Ghost Town books
Publications
International, LTD.
These folks are the publisher of my latest book, GHOST
TOWNS: Yesterday & TodayTM, which was released in June 2010 and has gone through several
printings. They also publish many other
books of interest to Ghost Towners.
This publishing company
in Idaho prints many ghost town books. A
recent check of their website doesn’t list a catalogue or other listing of
currently printed books.
However, I am leaving their link up here as the
company is still active, and is famous for publishing some of the best classic
books on ghost towns from the 1950s through the early 2000s.
Collectibles and misc OTHER SITES of interest to
ghost towners
A
connoisseur’s guide to Tokens, medals, buttons, badges, ribbons, World's Fair,
political, Masonic/fraternal, Indian peace medals and slave tags. If you collect this type of exonumia, this a great site for you. Rich Hartzog also

Western & Eastern Treasures Magazine
“World’s Leading How-to Magazine for Metal Detectorists Since 1966” Focus of W & E T is hands-on
treasure hunting for the active metal detectorist.
It is also the home to my long-running (since
Apr 1984) “Ghost Town USA” monthly column wherein each month we
explore America’s ghost towns.
This monthly magazine is for those who love
Arizona and traveling through the “Grand Canyon State”.
International California Mining Journal
Formerly
known as the California Mining Journal, this magazine’s focus is
on current mining. It does contain a lot
of historical information on mines and ghost towns.
Published
since the mid-1960s, Lost Treasure calls itself “the Treasure
Hunter’s Magazine of Choice.” LT is
aimed at the active metal detectorist.
For
anything from historical ghost town information through current casino show
listings, everything related to the Silver State is fair game for this 6-times
a year magazine.
“The
Newspaper that Roams” was a quarterly (more-or-less) folksy
travel newspaper chronicling the travels of its editor. For visiting the map dots and unknown places
in the West, this one couldn’t be beat. No longer published., but still had an active website as of Jan 04,
2015, although it doesn’t appear to have been updated since 2007.
