AIMS

  • The aims of the Southern Sons of Cornwall are to foster good relationships with other Cornish Associations throughout the world.

  • Southern Sons of Cornwall Inc. is an association whose members have Cornish connections, Cornish ancestry or with a deep interest in all things Cornish.

  • To provide a friendly social framework for members to meet periodically and to enjoy the resulting fellowship

  •  To assist in the creation and maintenance of members’ genealogical records.

  • To research Cornish history and to communicate such information to members via a periodical newsletter and via presentations and discussions at the regular meetings.

  •  To keep au fait with matters relating to other Cornish associations functioning in Australia and other countries and where appropriate communicate this information to members

  • The Southern Sons of Cornwall is non-denominational and non-sectarian.

 

RULES OF ASSOCIATION OF THE SOUTHERN SONS OF CORNWALL INC.

  1. Members must have an interest in Cornwall and all things Cornish but need not be of Cornish extraction.

  2. A Committee member may not serve for more than three consecutive years.

  3. Subscriptions to be paid annually in advance.

  4. A Quorum shall be made up of three (3) Committee members.

  5. The Committee is to consist of five (5) members including President, Secretary and Treasurer.

  6. Committee meetings are to be held regularly during the year.

  7. Should the SSOC fold, all monies to go to our designated charity.

  8. Two (2) signatures are required on cheques.

  9. Annual General Meeting to be held as soon as possible in each new year.

  10. President and Treasurer to submit a report at the AGM.

  11. Financial year ends 31st December.
