WHO
WE ARE
- The Southern Sons of Cornwall Inc. is a very
active Cornish Association based mostly in NSW Australia, with a current
membership of 40+ families.
-
- Our logo represents the Cornish under the
Southern Cross.
Originally a branch of the NSW Cornish Association, it was first formed in 1998 with just two members but when the first gathering was
held 28 people attended.
- In 2003 it was decided to secede from the NSW
Association mainly because of distance.
Activities are held about 6 or 7 times a year and a newsletter is sent out on a
regular basis.
Our interests vary greatly from genealogy, song, drama, Cornish language and
culture.
- We have our own Cornish dance group that meets on Friday afternoons
2pm-4pm at the North Nowra Community Hall. No experience
necessary.
-
- The Cornish born members are always willing to help Australian Cornish
descendants with place names and pronunciation and the drama group entertain and introduce the Cornish
accent to the uninitiated!!
If you would like to join our group please complete the
membership form and send $15 to our treasurer
