The Memphis Knights of Saint Andrew is a chartered unit of the Memphis Valley of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Our purpose is to provide service, education, fellowship, and fun to members and friends of the Scottish Rite, especially the 32nd degree Masons who make up the vast majority of the membership of the Rite. For the members of the Memphis Chapter, please see the Calendar for details our upcoming meetings and events. We have important decisions to make at these meetings; so, if you are a member of the Chapter -- or just want to partake of our fellowship and hear the Degree Talks, please come to the Stated Meetings.
For the Stated Meeting, we will eat at 6pm and meet immediately afterwards. The cost is just $5.00 per person; proceeds of the $5 is currently going to the Angel Fund. Please contact one of the officers of the Chapter to let us know to prepare a plate for you.
We provide the Knight Watch (watching the neighborhood on either side of our Scottish Rite Temple) during the meetings and events of the Scottish Rite; we helped with Channel 13's "Midsouth Most Wanted" television program last year; we have helped the Scottish Rite Foundation with its fundraising mailout in support of the Childhood Language Disorders Clinic at UT Memphis; and we have many other projects in the planning stages including giving tours of the building, Library Open House nights, a blood drive, a book drive, a series of educational talks about the 29 degrees of the Scottish Rite, a community assistance (charity helping) project, and more. So, if you would like to help us help the Scottish Rite, please contact one of our officers to volunteer.
On Tuesday, October 30, 2007, we initiated three new Brother Knights into our Order, following our KSA Stated Meeting. We are working on developing the cast for our ritual AND for the Scottish Rite 29th Degree.
Practices for our 2008 KSA Ceremonial and for the 29th Degree of the Scottish Rite will both start soon -- so, if you are a Scottish Rite Mason who wants to be a ritualist (or already doing ritual work), please contact us.
We will never forget the great time we all had at the Ceremonies marking our initiation, chartering as a Chapter, and installation of Officers which were held on Thursday, June 23rd, 2005, at 6:00 p.m., at the Memphis Scottish Rite Building on Union Avenue in downtown Memphis.
All Scottish Rite Masons (especially 32nd Degree Brothers of the Memphis Valley) are invited to attend any of our meetings or to help with our Service Projects. Please join us as we make the decisions and plans that will move this Chapter forward into More Fellowship, More Service and More Scottish in the Scottish Rite.
