Services and Hours
ServicesI am a State of Tennessee Notary Public. As such, I can Notarize any document that would normally be notarized anywhere in the State of Tennessee. Generally speaking, this requires that the Signer or Signers appear before me with proper Identification, sign the document willingly and with knowledge of what it contains, and, if it is a sworn statement or Affidavit, the Signer(s) must swear an oath or affirm the statement under penalty of perjury. It is my understanding that the State of Tennessee requires that a Notary Public in this state verify the identity of the Signer(s) by a current Tennessee Driver License OR State I.D. issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety OR U.S. Passport OR U.S. Military I.D. Only one of these valid forms of I.D. is required. (There are some alternatives to these 4 normally-required documents, which we can discuss if you request my services and you lack one of these standard forms of ID.) This is all based on the Notary Public Handbook, available by following the link shown for it on the Secretary of State website (at http://www.tennessee.gov/sos/bus_svc/notary.htm). Many lenders require at least two forms of I.D. -- we can cover those requirements when we speak.
My available services include:
- Notary Signing Agent -- If you are a title company, signing service, lender, settlement agent, closing agent or some other person who subcontracts with independent Notaries to handle the signing portion of your real estate closings, I will gladly do that for you. Please see the other pages of this site for more information on this service. My Notary Signing Agent services are my major focus and most of what is here relates to those services. Please call me when you have a signing.
- Traveling Notary Public -- If you are in a hospital or a shut-in or otherwise unable to get to a Notary Public, I will come to where you are anywhere in Shelby County (with a few exceptions) for a very reasonable total fee. (The exceptions are I will not go to any city jail or county or state prison.) This service is provided as a convenience to the public, as some people do not have easy access to a bank, lawyer office, insurance office, or other locations (such as FedEx Kinkos, PakMail, the UPS Store, Postal Plus, etc.) where Notary Public services are provided. If you cannot get to one of these other locations during the hours that they are open and you need something Notarized, please call me and I will try to help you.
- Standard Notary Public -- you come to where I am, bring your I.D. and the document(s) to be notarized, and I will provide the usual Notary Public services for the usual Notary Public fees. Please call me to be sure of where I will be before driving over (I am often out providing other services).
- Field Inspections -- I have over almost two years' worth of experience doing quick inspections on residential property and have also done several field inspections on commercial or industrial property, as well as credit inspections and other field services. Please call me if your firm needs help with any field services.
HoursMy usual hours of service are from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, unless otherwise engaged. I will consider signings (or closings) earlier or later than my usual hours if I already have a positive business relationship with your firm. I will also consider same-day or last-minute assignments, always depending on prior commitments.
Please join me in respecting the Sabbath by taking Sunday off from work.
I can receive documents via UPS, USPS (Post Office), FedEx, DHL, and other couriers, AND via email or fax or secure website. I am proficient with the most widely-used programs for handling edocs, and can learn new ones quickly. Please call me for my dedicated fax line number.
My laser printer is capable of handling letter and legal-sized documents.
My primary area of service is anywhere in Shelby County, Tennessee. This includes Memphis, Germantown, Bartlett, Millington, Collierville, Cordova, Arlington, Lakeland, and Rosemark, as well as smaller towns and the unincorporated parts of Shelby County.
My secondary area of service is all of Fayette and Tipton counties (in Tennessee). Unless you are on my Best Customer List, there is a small additional trip fee for travel to Tipton or Fayette counties.
In addition to my primary and secondary areas, I provide services to other west Tennessee counties, as well, for a negotiated fee (please see complete list of counties served).
For Field Inspections and other non-Notary services, I also cover Desoto County, Mississippi (Southaven, Olive Branch, Hornlake), and Crittenden County, Arkansas (West Memphis).
I am reasonable on the fees that I charge. You will be impressed with the experience, expertise and attention to detail that I bring to each and every assignment.
