Clinton had been in poor health for over a year, but not seriously until the last two weeks. He was born in Crittendon county, Kentucky, November 5, 1852. When he was two years of age his father, William Barnett Clinton, moved from Kentucky to a site one and a half miles northwest of Ina. Rev. Clinton lived there with his parents until he was married to Malinda Puckett, Nov. 7, 1872. To this union were born seven children: George Clinton, of Ina; Mrs. Cora Scarborough of Benton; Mrs. Ida Hayse, who died some 20 years ago; Mrs. Margaret Tucker, who died in 1904; Kelda Clinton, who died in 1900; Mrs. Nettie Scarborough of Benton; and Mabel Ing of Logan. Clinton belonged to the New Hope Free Will Baptist church. He took great interest in the work of church and all for which it stands. He enjoyed the love and respect of all who knew him, and his friends being numbered by his acquaintances. He was the type of man who was an asset to any community. He suffered greatly in the long weary months in which he was confined to his bed, but was ever cheerful and happy when not in great pain, and he sometimes sang as cheerful as if life was all sunshine and happiness to him. He was given all the care and consideration that love can lavish by his wife and step-sons and grandstepson and his own children, and not the slightest detail was overlooked that might bring him comfort of pleasure or lessen his sufferings. Rev. Clinton possessed great talent for speaking and singing. He had a good strong voice and good delivery. Emily Crawford WOODBURN, Emily, 74, of Nampa, Idaho d.
